The boys have been chatting up a storm lately and repeating everything (yes, everything) they hear. They also have been doing lots of singing (Ethan spent 45 minutes last night singing to himself in bed before finally drifting off to sleep and John is VERY into humming and doing all the hand motions for "I'm a little teapot" and "Itsy Bitsy Spider". Some of the favorite sayings lately are:
"Me do"
"You do"
"No John" (umm....apparently we say this one a lot)
"More please" (pronounced "moooooor peas")
"More juice please"
"Baby Pooper" (cousin Cooper is coming for a visit, and they can't say their c's)
"Big Boy Potty" (they are starting to get the hand of this potty training business)
"All Done" (pronounced "ahhhhh dun")
Also, the other day John lifted up my shirt, poked me in the belly and said "baby". Ouch! I have NO IDEA where he learned this (and NO, I'm not pregnant)...I said, no baby...just mama's big belly (lovely, huh?).
Daddy's been gone all week in Great Falls, Montana, working, so we're all very excited that he'll be home tonight! The boys have been asking "daddy go?" all week long. We're looking forward to a fun, family weekend!
Jason and I met in 1999, married September 15, 2001 and had our twin boys, John and Ethan, on May 25, 2006. Faith, hope and love...these three...but the greatest of these is LOVE.

Random Stuff (past few weeks)
Wetsuits
When the boys were first born, my parent's friends, Merle & Elizabeth, bought them these cute wetsuits. My parents live on Lake Tapps and they figured these would come in handy. Last week, we finally had the opportunity to put them in their wetsuits for swimming at Grandma and Grandpa's house and they looked SOOOOO cute!

Happy Birthday Daddy!
This Saturday, Daddy (aka Jason) turned the big 35! We celebrated by taking a trip to the family cabins in Leavenworth. We were so happy to see cousins, Tina & Ryan, Isabel and baby Peyton. Most of Jason's side of the family was all there and we got a few pictures (not surprisingly, most of them are of the all the kiddos. We were blessed with nice hot weather and the kids had a great time splashing in the kid pools and playing in the river!
Happy birthday Jason...you don't look a day over 29 :). We love you very much and hope you enjoyed your birthday (especially the Raspberry Pie that I made whose filling resembled raspberry jam instead :)).
Here is John taking baby cousin Peyton under his wing (learn the ways grasshopper)...

At the Cabin with Grandma & Grandpa
Here are a couple of cute pictures of Grandma & Grandpa (Shelley's parents) with the boys at their wilderness cabin in Packwood, WA.
This one is Ethan and Grandma sitting on the log benches that Grandpa made for them. Uncle Jim (my parent's neighbor) carved their names in them...
I absolutely love this picture of Grandpa and John going for a walk (love it in black and white)...
The boys sure do love Grandma & Grandpa's cabin! They even saw a bear on their walk!

Sleeping with Shoes
Last night at bedtime Ethan put on his shoes and decided he wanted to sleep with them on. Initially, I said "no bubby...let's take off your shoes for night-night". He protested...."no mama...shoes....peas (please)....shoooooeeeeeesssss". So I decided to pick my battles and let him sleep with his shoes on - what's it going to hurt to sleep with shoes on for one night? Well, tonight he's currently sleeping in his rubber boots. I wonder if this is a phase? If so, it's a cute phase. I got a picture of him last night sound asleep in his shoes and intend to get a picture tonight too. Oh, the funny things toddlers do!

Tall Ships Festival - Tacoma, WA
This year, the Tall Ships Festival was held directly outside my office window. I am lucky to have an office right on the water and the ships were beautiful. The festival started on Thursday with the "parade of ships" and it is truly amazing the size of some of them. We got to see the "Bounty" (in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie)...and is still docked right outside my office window. The first picture below is the Bounty. Jack Sparrow was even here :)...
